MYXOID CYST

Myxoid cyst appears as a nodule of the proximal nail fold associated with a longitudinal groove in the correspondent nail plate. Because the cyst often drains spontaneously, the shape of the groove is irregular . Myxoid cysts usually affect the fingernails of middle-aged women and are associated with osteoarthritis of the interphalangeal joints.
